Why should I get my roof tile sealed?
Answer from the ownerCement roof tiles are porous and get dirty over time. You can clean the roof every 3-5 years but you don't want to use chlorine that frequently on your roof. It's not good for the metal or underlayment under the tiles. It is much better to clean and seal the tile so they don't get dirty. Then every 5-6 you can have us come out and reapply the sealant.
Should I allow someone to walk on my roof to clean it?
Answer from the ownerIt's best to minimize people walking on your roof...especially people who don't know how to walk on a tile roof. Cement tiles roofs can be walked on with no negative impact if you know how to do it. How often do I need to get my cement tile roof cleaned?
Answer from the ownerIt kind of depends on the age and color of the roof. New roof tiles come from the manufacturer with a light sealant on them. So they normally take 5 years or longer before they need to be cleaned. But once the sealant burns off under the sun, most roof get dirty in about 3 to 4 years. If you have a white roof then you many have to clean the roof every two years.
