Laura shot both my engagement photos and my wedding day photos. She is a very skilled photographer and captured our day beautifully. Not only was she great to talk to on a personal level, but she handled family requests gracefully and respectfully. I definitely recommend her and Southern Love Creative to anyone looking for storytelling in your wedding day photography.

Laura at Southern Love Creative Photography is a magician with a camera. Her warmth and skill made our Cinco de Mayo elopement unforgettable. Despite our initial camera shyness, Laura's gentle guidance and enthusiasm put us at ease, capturing our love story with grace and sensitivity. From our small ceremony at 6th and Onion to the East Side photoshoot and dinner at De Nada with our favorite people, Laura was there, ensuring every moment was beautifully preserved. Her genuine passion and kindness shone through every moment, making her not just our photographer but a cherished part of our day. If you want someone to turn your elopement into a dream come true, Laura is the one.

We LOVED this photo studio. I am so glad we went with Southern Love Creative for our engagement and wedding photos. Laura was incredible and, as a couple who doesn’t spend a lot of time in front of a camera, she made us feel so comfortable and really helped highlight "us." Also, going for the engagement shoot was so worth it! It helped get out any camera nerves and now we have nice (non-wedding) photos of us as well. We love how every single photo turned out and looking at each one takes us back to that moment on our day. Truly, couldn't be happier with them!

Southern Love Creative provided us with an extraordinary wedding photography experience that we will cherish forever. From the moment we first met Laura for our engagement session, it was clear we were in the hands of a professional that was passionate about her craft. She carried that momentum forward along with the rest of her team for our wedding day. Laura was always open to our ideas and made sure to include specific shots we wanted in the final product. Even though we knew a great deal of meticulous planning had been involved behind the scenes, the entire process felt incredibly candid and natural, allowing us to enjoy our day without feeling overly posed or pressured. The team’s professionalism also shone through in their seamless collaboration with our videographer and wedding coordinator. They were timely in delivering the final photos and the quality of the work was nothing short of exceptional - each image truly a work of art that perfectly captured the feel, aesthetic, and important moments of our day. We are beyond grateful for the beautiful memories from our wedding that Southern Love Creative has given us, and we cannot recommend them highly enough!
Q&A
What styles of wedding photography do you specialize in?
Answer from the ownerAt Southern Love Creative, we specialize in a dynamic mix of photojournalistic and candid styles, aimed at documenting the genuine emotions and unique details of each wedding day without intruding on the natural flow of events.
How are your local rates?
Answer from the ownerIf you are in Austin or the surrounding areas, I charge a flat rate (includes travel and sales tax).
How far in advance should I book your services?
Answer from the ownerFor a wedding, please book 4-6 months in advance. For a portrait session, 1-2 months in advance should suffice.
How do you describe your photography style?
Answer from the ownerMy style is photojournalistic. I like to capture moments as they happen, not posed throughout. This enables the photos to portray something magnificent you wouldn't otherwise feel. To achieve this, I can provide direction as needed and adapt to what you do best.
How are photos delivered?
Answer from the ownerOnce your images have been edited, they will be uploaded to a password-protected gallery, where you will be able to download, order prints and share your images. You will also receive a Dropbox link to full resolution images. For an additional fee, I can provide a USB drive with all of the edited images in high resolution and an assortment of prints.
Do you do destination weddings?
Answer from the ownerYes, I would love to come along and document the adventure!
What camera do you use?
Answer from the ownerI use a Canon 5DS and Canon 6D with a full set of L-Series Canon lenses. If you'd like more in-depth information about my photography gear, feel free to visit my site or give me a call.
What do I need to book a date?
Answer from the ownerI require a 50% down payment and a signed contract to book a date. The other 50% is due one week prior to the date of the photography session or wedding.
Are you available for an in-person consultation?
Answer from the ownerAbsolutely! I actually recommend it. Please fill out the contact form on my site, or give me a call, to schedule something that works for both of us.
