Q&A
How can I prepare my house for my replacement windows?
Answer from the ownerPlease take down curtains, blinds, or any other window treatments. Security sensors should also be removed and turned off by your security company. Please provide our installation expert with a clear path to the window(s) being replaced by moving anything that may be in the way. It is also advisable to remove all wall decorations from the walls close to the windows as they may fall during removal or installation.
How long will it take to get my replacement windows? How much time should I allow for the installation?
Answer from the ownerSince every window ordered is custom-built to fit your home and design choices, manufacturing times vary. Once delivered, the type of window being installed and the type being removed help determine the amount of time needed to complete the job. On average, each window takes about 30 minutes. Trim work and cleanup will require additional time to complete. An average job will take a single day.
What type of warranty is available for my windows?
Answer from the ownerAll windows and patio doors we sell come with a manufacturer’s lifetime limited warranty and a repair labor guarantee, good for as long as you own your home! Contact us or see our warranties page for more details.
Will the replacement windows be installed from the inside or outside?
Answer from the ownerThe majority of our replacement windows are installed from the outside. In some situations it may be necessary to install from the inside. On the day of installation, your installation expert will assess your unique situation and explain the process that will best suit your home.
What happens to my old windows?
Answer from the ownerAfter installing your new replacement windows we remove all old windows from your property and dispose of them properly. If you wish to keep your old windows or storm windows, please notify the installation crew as soon as it arrives for your installation.
What do I do if there is a problem with the windows?
Answer from the ownerMost of the issues encountered by our customers are easily corrected and don't necessarily mean that there is a problem with your window. You are always welcome to contact us for help.
Can you customize entry doors to match my home's design?
Answer from the ownerYes, we specialize in customizing entry doors to match your home's unique design. You can choose from a wide range of finishes, styles, and decorative glass options to create an entry door that complements your home's aesthetics perfectly.
What types of windows are available?
Answer from the ownerAs America’s #1 Replacement Window company, we have many styles, shapes and colors of windows. We install double-hung (our most popular by far), single-hung, casement, sliding, awning, bay & bow, picture, garden, and basement hoppers. We also have custom architectural designed windows that can add a dramatic accent to your home.
Are your windows energy efficient and Energy Star Approved?
Answer from the ownerYes, we are an Energy Star partner. Our SolarZone™ insulated glass packages are designed for superior thermal performance. Our state-of-the-art technology cuts energy consumption and reduces your home’s susceptibility to damaging ultraviolet energy. We have a wide range of windows, siding, doors and roofing, many of which are Energy Star rated.
Do you install replacement windows year-round? If so, will I lose a lot of heat/cooling at the time of installation?
Answer from the ownerWindow World installs replacement windows year-round. An average installation will take only one day. Our crews install one window at a time and are trained to do what they can to minimize heating/cooling loss. The energy savings from your new windows will recover any incremental energy costs incurred during their installation many times over during their lifetime.
